| Sept 6 John McCain's son is in Iraq serving our nation so we can throw diatribes and curses at John McCain and call him an old fool. Sarah Palin's son is leaving for Iraq next week to serve our nation so that we can throw insults and diatribes at Sarah Pelin and call her daughter a whore. Baraq O'Bama's son is going to...wait, he has no son. He has no American Flag Lapel Pin either... it's too heavy and spoils the streamlined look of his empty suit. Baraq O'Bama throws diatribes at McCain and Palin whose sons are in the line of fire and ready to die for you and he. And he speaks to us about patriotism. They tell us that we are "In the Wrong War; at the Wrong Time; in The Wrong Place. Except that we are not. The American people have been lied to. Obama and Biden have failed to acknowledge that 550 metric tons of Saddam-era yellowcake (the subject of Bush's Lies) was shipped to Canada in July. Enough to make over 150 nuclear bombs. Both have failed to inform Americans in their stump speeches that we are winning in Iraq; winning a war that they are ready to surrender after having spent over 4000 lives of our youth. In their world full of hate, they call it Patriotism. Wrong war? I say, wrong O'Bama assumptions taken logically to wrong O'Bama conclusions from which O'Bama would make life and death decisions affecting every American. It is a matter of record. Joe Addabbo is running a covert campaign through that newspaper and they accuse Maltese of improprieties. Like I said people are not that stupid, they know what is going on. Now, before anyone says that I am defending Alinsky, let me make it perfectly clear that in my opinion he was a person whose goals were anti-democratic – small d. If my memory serves me right, a Father Lynch from Gate of Heaven was a prime mover in getting local congregations to become involved in an organization known as QCO, the Queens Citizens Organization. Among the congregations in Queens that actively participated in it for a number of years was OLG. A number of parishioners were actively involved in the group’s activities in this area and in the borough at large. Of course, those people were not Communists despite that they and the organization regularly used tactics that Alinsky’s IAF promoted. My point I was making was that, in my opinion,you were trying to play the guilt by association game with your comment vis a vis Alinsky and Mrs. Obama. The Democrat to run against Maltese will be determined on Sept. 9. I much prefer to see the November race be between Addabbo and Maltese, rather than have Baldeo be the Dem to run against Serf again. Therefore I will be voting for Joe on Sept. 9. Blacks do not hate the citizens of HB any more than the citizens of HB hate Blacks. Yes, there are haters in this world of all persuasions, but to lump all of any group as being or doing anything is asinine. As far as Malcolm Smith is concerned, he could very well and very easily be replaced as the Senate Dem leader when and if the Senate changes hands. It is not a race between Addabbo and Maltese yet. Until Baldeo, a man who has stood in our community with Charles Barron to call Joe a racist, is beaten in the Primary and the primary is over there is no Dem yet as the candidate. Baldeo lost to Maltese by a hair in 2006. There are far less Republicans now in the district. Baldeo can win against Maltese and so can Joe in November. If Maltese goes down, I far prefer it to be to Joe than to Baldeo. I would suggest that you might too although you would prefer Serf to win in November. By the way, Audrey is running for the Assembly seat. EF ________________________________________________________________________________________ When you hear a Democrat use the term "changing demographics" it means immigrants both legal and illegal plus minorities are moving into the neighborhood and the Democrats will do everything to get them registered to vote. As long as a Democrat get in is all that EF cares about, not our community, CB had it correct, Addabbo should have run for Phefer's seat and everyone would have voted for him but he chose to sell out his community in favor of the black Democrats. This is no longer a race between Maltese and Addabbo, HB can not let the State Senate be taken over by racketeers like Malcolm Smith and others who hate HB. Thats the message that the citizens of HB must know before November so spread the word. HB is a very small part of the Senate District. Baldeo did not get HB votes last time and he came very, very close without them. Two years later, same voter pool in HB, but lots more Dems, fewer Reps due to changing demographics in the northern areas of the district. Baldeo gets them and Baldeo wins. Years ago there was some popular grafitti in the area that HB ruled all, not true in terms of the different elective districts we are in. The most famous slogan of the colonies leading up to the American Revolution was indeed No Taxation Without Representation. The fact that this slogan endures today shows the power of good public relations. Words - coined effectively and succinctly - have staying power. The power of slogans notwithstanding, when people conclude that the War for Independence was about taxes, they forget or never learned some simple facts: The most burdensome and controversial tax levied on the colonies was the Stamp Act of 1765, which was repealed in 1766, nine years before military hostilities broke out and ten years before independence was declared. The last major tax which preceded the war itself was the Tea Act of1773, which represented a paltry tax on British tea in North America. That tax was so paltry, in fact, that British tea, taxed as it was, wasstill cheaper than smuggled Dutch tea. When the Second Continental Congress enumerated the specific grievances in the Declaration of Independence, they listed "imposing Taxes on us without our Consent" as Number Seventeen. Clearly, if taxes were the main cause of the American Revolution, the war would have started sooner than it did, and the Founding Fathers would have thought to list it higher up in the list ot grievances in the Declaration of Independence. Liberal thinkers in NY and other states and cities took the free education entitlement concept a step further through land grant colleges, state colleges, and municipal colleges like CUNY where people could get college educations at lesser cost because it is subsidized by tax dollars. Perhaps AS could have gone to Harvard if his or her parents had more money derived by paying less taxes. The fact that what Moore has written has generated controversy is an indication that others have read his work and reacted to it, whether the reaction has been pro or con his opinions. Land-based temperature readings are corrupted by the "urban heat island" effect: urban areas encroaching on thermometer stations warm the micro-climate around the thermometer, due to vegetation changes, concrete, cars, houses. Satellite data is the only temperature data we can trust, but it only goes back to 1979. NASA reports only land-based data, and reports a modest warming trend and recent cooling. The other three global temperature records use a mix of satellite and land measurements, or satellite only, and they all show no warming since 2001 and a recent cooling. She knew my strong conservative views were not going to be weaken by her liberalism, one because I was a little older than the rest of the class and two because I am a strong human being. The liberals are sneaky and have a subtle way of feeding young minds their ideas they start by asking what the other persons opinion is and then slowly convincing them that the liberal opinion is the right opinion.
